Careers & Jobs Fair 2010

School Students, Career Switchers, Undergraduates & Graduates

Pass on the information - make sure they know about it - your son, daughter, nephew, niece, next door neighbour’s children etc. etc. – perhaps even your next door neighbours themselves – anyone who would gain from attending this informative event. Free entry.

Visit the showcase of occupations and career paths for all ages.
There will be a wide range of exhibitors representing many different career sectors. These include finance, aviation, health, veterinary, zoology & conservation, law, broadcasting & journalism, construction, engineering, architecture, education, youth work, marketing, sport, telecommunications, I.T, PR, hospitality, the army, RAF and many more.

During the Careers event, a series of presentations has been arranged in order to give more in depth information about specific careers; details of these can be found on The States of Jersey web site and on Careers Jersey on Facebook.

The event is sponsored by the Jersey Construction Council, supported by Gallery Magazine who is producing a free Brochure containing useful information and contact details and Barclays Wealth who have sponsored the printing; this will be available at the event.

Advisers from Careers Jersey will be on hand for general careers advice and entrance is free to all. Parking is available at the hotel.

The Fair has been extended this year to accommodate a Jobs Fair featuring companies currently holding vacancies: a full list of these will be available at the event.

The main aim of the Fair is to raise public awareness of the range of local job opportunities that are available, to gather information and perhaps make those all important contacts; many employers on the island are keen to recruit local graduates. Whilst you may already know the career you intend to pursue, it will give you an opportunity to discover what the job entails, the local prospects of employment, the application process and what you can do to give yourself the best chance of getting into that career area. For those of you who do not know the career path you wish to pursue once you have completed your degree, the Careers Fair is the ideal opportunity to find out more about careers you may not have previously considered.
